Nollywood - Did I hear you laugh? If you've never heard of Nollywood, google is your friend. Some of my American friends are stunned when I tell them about Nollywood. The largest film industry after Hollwood and Bollywood.
Once upon a time, I had a dream - a dream about going to a Film School in the USA after the completion of my Masters degree.
I found myself in America and I also found something surprising -The high cost of going to a film school in the USA. As reality set in - settling into a new country I had just immigrated to, getting myself a job and empowering myself financially, I kicked my dream of going to Film School aside.
There were more important things in my life that needed attention so I told myself.
Okay, so I am a Nollywood addict. I hear many people who are Nigerian and say things like "sorry I don't watch Nigerian movies". Well, das fine.....

I have followed the Nigerian Movie Industry from the days of Living in Bondage (pacesetter for the hosts of Nigerian movies to follow). I remember seeing Omotola Jalade Ekeinde the first time in a movie called Daybreak in 1997.
During the holidays shortly before my teenage years ( Shoutout to all the parents who shipped their children off to boarding school at age 10) I would stay up through the night to watch Nigerian movies. Thanks to AIT back then :-) The rest is history..
Some time ago, I decided since I had shoved my dream of becoming a Nollywood producer aside, I could at least become a Nollywood movie reviewer. Three years later, I have finally convinced myself to get moving and set the ball in motion.Watch out for all the Nigerian movie reviews to follow. Cheers!
